Brace yourself for the bad

By now most of us seen enough revenge movies that showed a lot of brutality and a lot of shocking moments. These revenge movies always have one thing in common and that most of the times the woman that endured it all gets to fight back. Well let's just see how Katie fights back in this one.

As the story goes, Katie (Jemma Dallender) a very beautiful young woman looking to break into the modeling business ends up with a phone number of a photographer Ivan (Joe Absolom) and after a quick call she agrees to come downtown for a photo shoot free of charge. When Katie shows up, things don't go as planned when they insist she pose nude, she abruptly leaves, but not before getting the attention of Ivan's brother Georgie, who becomes obsessed with Katie. Later that night, Georgie (Yavor Baharov) , who got Katie's home address from the release form she had turned in at the beginning of the shoot, ends up at her door with a handful of pictures that were taken before the nudity issue arose. Katie reluctantly takes the pictures and after some urging finally gets Georgie to leave, only to awaken in the middle of the night to see Georgie sitting in her dark bedroom filming her. They immediately struggle violently and in the process, make enough noise to draw the attention of a neighbor/boyfriend Jayson (Michael Dixon). After stabbing Jayson, he binds and rapes Katie while her boyfriend lies watching on the floor bleeding out. When Georgie calls his brothers for help, Katie ends up being smuggled out of the country and sold out for further sexual abuse and torture by some seriously sick-minded individuals. Left for dead, badly beaten, battered, bruised, and broken, a stroke of luck gives her the chance to regain herself and take brutal vengeance.

I Spit On Your Grave 2

To be honest production value of this one was pretty nice. The shots used looked crisp and very clean which in this case I thought matched the whole atmosphere of the movie. But with that said it is one of the few things that are really good about the movie. In the end they done a part 2 which doesn't really make sense. The whole set up is less good and the fact that Katie ends up being completely abducted to another country was a really big down fall for me. She only got drugged one time and it makes no sense. And yes I am being harsh here. Revenge stories need to be done right or they just don't work. And knowing it is the same director as which gave us the first remake, this can easily be put down as a letdown.

I Spit On Your Grave 2

Where I spit on your grave 1 really did shine was the intense violence it had, the way everything was set up and how things unfolded. With part 2 this isn't the case it goes from one thing to the next. The torture is there in some ways but never really was like as intense as the first one. Again the lead actress was ok but thanks to the weird story it ends up especially in the middle kind of dull. What you see is nothing new and what you do get to see should be all up in your face, but it's not. It all kind of fails with how the revenge takes place mostly it was way too quickly and way too easy. This makes it feel awkward and emotionless. The one thing the first one had was a good motive and great torture scenes. These are hardly there with part two, and again with these kind of movies it is all about the torture and effects of it.

I Spit On Your Grave 2

To sum things up this movie just ended up in the mediocre section for me. The violence was tuned down the acting wasn't great mostly because of the shitty accents the main villains are trying to use and the non-believable story is just a hard pill to swallow. It feels like an unnecessary sequel which just uses the name to capture the attention of the viewer. A movie with too many plot holes and unexplainable actions lead to a score of 1.5.
