I know a lot of you Friday the 13th fans have been clamoring for a sequel to the 2009 remake, but unfortunately the film rights were being pulled in so many directions, and basically it just didn't seem like we would ever see Jason Voorhees ever again.
However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount Pictures is once again the holder of the Friday the 13th rights which includes Jason Voorhees. The site reports that Warner Bros. paid quite a price to join Paramount on Christopher Nolan's latest movie project, Interstellar. The studio (Warner Bros.) needed to relinquish the rights of Friday the 13th back to Paramount in order for them to be a part of Interstellar. Quite a price to pay, but not only that, Paramount has also been given the rights to South Park. So, with the franchise rights back in the hands of Paramount Pictures, hopefully we will soon be hearing about that Friday the 13th sequel. Oh yes, Jason will return!
