Cloverfield and Let Me In director, Matt Reeves, is currently working on a remake of John Carpenter's They Live (1988)
They Live is about a man who finds a pair of sunglasses that unravels the truth about the streets of LA. With these glasses he discovers that advertisements are sending subliminal messages to LA's inhabitants and he can actually see the difference between human beings and extraterrestrials. Without these sunglasses, aliens look just like normal people. Now it's up to him to stop these creatures from invading our planet earth. No actual date for post-production nor release is announced yet. But of course we'll keep you posted. Now we're left with the million dollar question: is Reeves able to top John Carpenter's masterpiece? Even though I'm always very careful when it comes to remakes (not to mention last year's Nightmare On Elmstreet), this one actually makes me a bit curious.
