Perlman joins cast of Del Toro’s “Pacific Rim”

If you are a guy, go back to your childhood. Think of what would be the coolest thing you could ever imagine back then. Big chance it would be giant robots beating giant monsters to pulp. At least mine was and Guillermo Del Toro’s as well. Now back to the present again: if there’s a rough ‘n tough asskicking guy needed that knows his way around monsters you call Ron Perlman. He’ll be playing in the upcoming “Pacific Rim” which also stars Idris Elba, Rob Kazinsky, Charlie Day, Rinko Kikuchi and Charlie Hunnam. In Wired Del Toro revealed some thoughts about upcoming movie.

“It’s really, it’s a very, very beautiful poem to giant monsters. Giant monsters versus giant robots. Twenty-five-story-high robots beating the crap out of 25-story-high monsters. We’re trying to create a world in which the characters are real and how it would affect our world politically, how it would affect the landscape if creatures like this really came out of the sea, etc.”
